Inside, the MS330 has a 1.3 megapixel digital camera and a very atypical Motorola user interface. Like some of the other Korean market phones we've played with recently, the MS330 also supports a built-in answering machine that can be used in lieu of regular voicemail. A cool feature that I haven't seen on other handsets is the ability to choose from two different keypad backlighting colors: amber and blue. We've included a photo of the two different lighting schemes in the gallery on page 3.

Another novel feature is a built-in IR based remote control application for controlling your TV, VCR, DVD player, and cable box. I didn't test this feature, but it certainly seems like something a lot of people would like - if for no other reason than to mess with the TV at the local bar.

While I did not spend too much time playing around with the MS330, I can certainly say that I would like to see something a little more daring looking like the MS330 from Motorola for the home US CDMA market. The MS330 has heaps of style.

If you are a Verizon user, you can buy a MS330 from Wireless Imports and activate it on your account since it supports CDMA 800Mhz..

Motorola M800 Digital CDMA and ANALOG Bag Phone. The power output is about 500mw Analog and 325mw Digital CDMA. This phone is only 1/2 watt, the old analog phones are 3 full watts, I bought this to use in remote areas, mostly in the Mojave desert. Performs a little bit better than a standard tri-mode handset in analog mode, not nearly as well as a full 3 watt phone. Some of the cell coverage in the Death, Panamint Valley and parts of rural Nevada is Analog only. Some areas now have digital as of March 2007.

As we stated earlier, the Motorola Slvr L6 has a comfortable selection of midrange features. Casual cell phones users will appreciate the Bluetooth, speakerphone, and Motorola Screen3 technology, but more hard-core users will lament the lack of a music player and a high-resolution camera. We'll review the essentials first, however. The 500-contact phone book is adequate, and there's room in each entry for six phone numbers, an e-mail address, a postal address, and a birth date; the SIM card holds an additional 250 names. You can assign contacts to caller groups, pair them with a picture for photo caller ID, or assign them any of 24 polyphonic ring tones. The phone also supports MP3 ring tones. Other basic features include a vibrate mode, a mini-USB port, a calculator, a date book, and an alarm clock. Messaging features are plentiful, with support for text, enhanced, and multimedia messaging. You also get instant messaging for AOL, Yahoo, and ICQ platforms. The Slvr L6 isn't a business phone by any means, but it has a couple of offerings that road warriors should find useful. Not only is there full Bluetooth, a speakerphone, and voice dialing, the Slvr L6 also supports PC syncing and e-mail. And as we said earlier, while the phone is capable of supporting PTT services, Cingular has not activated the L6 for its PTT network.

Like the Motorola V557, the Slvr L6 features Motorola's Screen3 Web-browsing technology (see the V557 review for a full description), which greatly improves the WAP 2.0 browsing experience.

The screen is unremarkable, but since there are no multimedia capabilities, this ought not to be a problem, except in bright sunlight. The L2 offers essential business tools such as a handsfree speaker, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, good battery life and quadband. There is no support for POP3 email, but apart from that, the L2 is well equipped. The memory is perfectly adequate for a phone of this type.

Teenagers and multimedia fans look elsewhere, but for those looking for a good inexpensive non-camera phone (rather a niche area these days) the L2 is a good choice. A comparable phone is the Nokia 6030, although the Nokia has more bulk and is only dual band.

The first KRZR made a name for itself with its cool design. A blue-bodied flashy handset, dazzling and captivating. The new KRZR K3 goes even further, leaving no doubt that design is all that matters here. The phone does look sharp and will not go unnoticed, not even in the most exclusive surroundings. The great first impression the phone makes, is enhanced by the high quality materials used on its bodywork. Steel and glass dominate. The phone's body is especially solid: no wobbling or creaky sounds, a true creation of Motorola's craftsmanship.

Motorola doesn't like anybody to feel left out when it introduces a new slim phone. That's why it was careful to introduce both CDMA and GSM versions of its sexy new Krzr. Verizon Wireless customers can get their hands on the Motorola Krzr K1m, while GSM fans have access to the Motorola Krzr K1. Outside of an exterior color change and the absence of external music controls, the K1 is almost indistinguishable from its CDMA sibling but its feature set holds some important differences. At the time of this writing, the Krzr K1 isn't offered by a U.S. carrier so it will set you back between $350 and $400. On the other hand we expect Cingular to pick up the phone soon and offer it at a cheaper price with service.

As we said in our review of the K1m, we think the Krzr K1 is far and away more attractive than the Razr family. At 4.05x1.73x0.67 inches, its narrower form factor makes it much more stylish, and though it's slightly thicker in profile, it still captures the thin phone trend that shows no sign of dissipating. It's also more comfortable to hold in the hand, and it's slightly heavier weight (3.6 ounces) gives it a more solid feel. The sheet of hardened glass and the chrome plating on the bottom end are here as well, but overall we give the most design points to the K1 due its more appealing blue shade. Also, the blue skin attracts fewer fingerprints than the silver K1m.

The Motorola i9 is the most powerful multimedia phone available on the iDEN network, which is kind of like bragging about a new sports car that uses leaded gasoline. The iDEN network is great for walkie-talkie calls, and the Moto i9 gets all the Nextel Direct Connect features business users and Boost Mobile fans crave. But buyers looking for an impressive multimedia device should look elsewhere, as the Motorola i9 comes up short in all of its advanced functions. The music player was basic and difficult to manage. The camera was lousy, and the external controls hardly helped us. Even the phone's design seemed out of touch: an amalgam of the dated RAZR styling with a touch of the Moto ROKR E8's controls. Not a winning combination, if you ask us. We wish Sprint had ditched the iDEN network altogether and stuck with the newer PTT services on their faster EV-DO Rev. If you need a multimedia phone for the Nextel Direct Connect network, the Motorola i9 is your best option by default. Surprisingly, the EM330 includes a microSD storage slot (accessed by removing the rear battery cover) and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Motorola definitely deserves a lot of credit for the latter — some smartphones commanding prices of close to $1000 often lack this basic and convenient feature. The rest of the features are quite basic. Three Java games, a 1.3-megapixel camera with video capture and stereo A2DP Bluetooth are present, along with a range of PIM functions including a calculator, alarm clock, stopwatch and calendar.

CrystalTalk technology rounds out the package. Motorola claims it increases call quality and allows conversations to be audible even in the event of excessive background noise. Quality during testing was fair but not outstanding.

Like the E398 before it, the E725 has rhythm lights that respond to the ambient noise in the room, blinking and pulsating to the grooves that surround it. The large 1.9" 262k color display was very easy on the eyes and offers up a resolution of 176x220.

Perhaps the biggest surprise from the E725's spec sheet is the fact that it is a CDMA phone, not a GSM device as one might expect. Motorola has not announced any carrier committments yet, but says that they expect to see the E725 available to consumers sometime in Q2 of 2005.
